Every game borrows from past games in one way or another, but what makes a game good is not always the originality. It can also be how they improved upon what was borrowed.
This game uses fairy tale and historical (or more accurately, mythological) figures and throws them all together in a single tale about a near OZ experience. The story is not going to revolutionize the game industry, but it is not completely empty.
The mechanics are very simple. You tap to launch a skill, enable auto battle to stop tapping, and start 2x because you aren't really invested in the fight. These games are very rarely about the fight. They are about the heroes. You are here to collect and equip and evolve and (OMG!) dress up heroes. That is why having a feature that allows switching between realistic and animated becomes so important. It has no impact on the battle, but it changes the entire appearance of all the other stuff you are actually watching.
Overall, the game is nothing new. It does, however, show that the developers put a lot of effort into it. It is not by Nexon, so you can't really expect a million dollar production. For only producing one game, though, you get more than a lot of new entries into mobile gaming. It will be interesting to see how this evolves over time.
