Hi, I'm the dev of The Way Home
Hi, I'm Myeongjin, the Dev of 'The Way Home'. I was recently invited to TapTap, and I am very happy to have the opportunity to talk about us and my game with my gamers here. Thanks for having me.
CONCODE is a tiny game production studio run by me(programmer) and my friend(designer). We don't have grand goals like becoming a big company. We just want to create something that we can have fun playing on our own. If we make a game like that, I'm sure there will be people who will love our games.
The Way Home, the first game in CONCODE, is an action rogue-like game. Development started in February 2021, and as it was awarded at the Google Indie Game Festival, it became a game played by 1 million users on Google Play and Apple App Store. I have two cats, one of which is a model for Cheese. With her image, I created the character and story of the game. Cheese's naughty personality comes from my cat. I wrote a story thinking about my cat one day about 15 years later. (More details could be spoilers, so I will stop here.)
The Way Home has a major update planned for the last week of July. The 'Party mode' will be added. You can play with 21 characters, including Cheese and NPC characters in Scenario mode. Each game can be played with up to 4 characters. All characters have completely different skills, and there are characters that create synergy, so it will be fun to find new combinations. And the skill system of the Scenario mode will be improved as well.
It will also be released on Steam in September. There you will be able to play on a wide screen. From the end of this year, we plan to start developing the next project. The next work hasn't been decided yet, but I'll let you know when the prototype comes out.
