Since the "invention" of the vocaloid, there have been a lot more music games entering the market. The one thing that sets this one apart is that it includes a story without making the music aspect secondary. There is no character gacha and you do not have to maintain the happiness of some girls between rounds.
The timing is a bit off when you begin the game, which has been reported a few times on Google Play. Not unlike any other music game, you can configure the delay. This may be an issue, but if you are trying to come up with ways to work with the default timing, then you are being silly.
The artwork is crisp and vibrant. The music is upbeat and modern. The story is a good fit with the theme and music. There is not much more you can ask of a game in this genre.
With all the recent games that want you to battle zombies, shoot your friends, or collect equipment to fend off dragons, this is a nice change. It is good to take a break from all the violence once in a while and this seems like a great game for it.
Keep in mind, this is only a trial. Much like the original release of Cytus, you will reach a point when the game begins asking you to purchase the full version. It appears to be a single purchase, which is still better than seasonal packs.
