"Time to mix drinks and change lives." - Jill Stingray
VA-11 Hall-A is one of the games I hold dear to my heart. Developed by a Venezuelan indie game studio, Sukeban Games, that was originally started off as a blog for Japanese Pop Culture discussions.
In the world of dystopian cyberpunk city-scape, you got to play as Jill Stingray, a bartender at VA-11 Hall-A. It's a very chill and relaxing game, with interesting quirky characters, very engaging dialogs, cool musics, mini games and a couple of unique mechanics here and there.
The art style is fun, nostalgic and visually beautiful. The story itself is the most important part here. It's very mature, relatable, and compelling. There's drama, comedy, a little bit of mystery, it tells a story about how we as human beings makes mistakes, how we cope and live with it, how we find ourselves a resolution, to forgive, to be more connected and open, and learn to love ourselves.
It's one of my favorite games of all time. And if you're looking for a story-driven game, pixelated art style and cool musics, dystopian cyberpunk aesthetic background, and WAIFUS; you need to check this one out.
It's available for PC/Linux/MacOS, PlayStation 4 & Vita, Nintendo Switch. The game has a TapTap page and it seems like they're planning to make an official Android port but it hasn't been updated from its "Pre-registration" status since 2017 (sadly). But there is an Unofficial method to port the game to Android that you can find on the internet.
