Dumb down the mechanics, make the graphics look a bit more complex, move to the next chapter, and find a way to charge a bit more money.
For those of you English players that missed the short run of Tales of the Rays before it became a Japanese exclusive, this may seem like an unfair way to describe it. For those that played it, you know exactly what I am talking about. It happened to Sword Art and then God Eater, so it is only fitting it would be the same formula here.
There is a little value to this game if you truly love the series, but it gets extremely boring fast if you are not already invested in the characters and are looking for something to really enjoy. There is more tutorial than story, especially when it tells you at one point it is done and then drags on even longer. After the tutorial, you are left with a very weak and hardly missable "tale" about some kid wanting to go pick fights.
It is unfortunate the Bandai Namco has lost so much interest in being immersed in games that they cram so many skip and auto buttons into what is more or less a visual novel about collecting characters. The characters aren't even that new. Most are from previous games that at least made some attempt to seem interesting.
