Player of the week - COSMICBUDDHA
Written by - Epiphamy
Our player of this week has a pretty cool name - COSMICBUDDHA, which somehow really let my imagination go wild - imagining a huge cyberpunk-style buddha standing in the middle of the cosmos. “I just wanna use this to show that there’s always a lot of stuff going on inside my head,” CB, aka COSMICBUDDHA told me why he chose this name.
After graduating in 2020 with a degree in mechanical engineering, CB is right now working as a professional data engineer, which seems to me a pretty huge shift. “I’ve been thinking about changing back to my original field of expertise, which is not an easy thing,” CB talked about his career plans, “I’m still self-learning some mechanical engineering stuff and I always run a lot of simulation programs on my computer, like those where you can calculate flight drags or the air force. Sometimes these programs run for days, so I usually don’t have extra space or resources for gaming on PC.”
Though he still does play some PC games from time to time (like GTA, Assassin’s Creed, and CS: GO), CB considers mobile gaming a better option. “For mobile games, you just need to pick up your phone and it’s there.” Some of CB’s favorite mobile game genres include MOBA, battle royales, puzzle games, and simulation games. He also kindly recommends some fun-to-play mobile games to me, such as Nobodies, Data Wing, TheoTown, Figment, and his top 1 mobile game on the list - Mindustry. “If you love tower defense games, it is a must-play, and if you love management simulators, you can not skip it.” CB wrote this in his review on Mindustry.

As an avid gamer ever since a young age, CB still remembers the old days when he played Super Mario on some old-school controller. “Just make good use of the Konami Code and then you would get 20 lives in a game,” he laughed(and for those who may not have a clue as to what Konami Code is, the Konami Code is also called the Contra Code, and it’s a cheat code that usually appears in many Konami games. By pressing a sequence of buttons, a cheat or other effect will be enabled). Later he started to play games on his phone, “I remembered playing a java game called Ultimate Street Football on my Nokia phone.” It was during his university years that he started to play more PC games, and at that time he was also an active member of the gaming club, hosting several CS GO competitions among his peers.
“Besides work, I spent most of my time in gaming, watching animes and mangas,” said CB. “I’ve been watching the latest episodes of the Bleach series. Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War. It’s really been a long time.” Sometimes CB also travels around and uses photos to record some unforgettable moments along the way. He shared with me a photo of a cold fountain found on a mountain trail, which really ignites my passion for another travel during the holiday.
When asked about whether he’s active on social media, CB told me his YouTube channel is full of technical stuff, so nothing special about that. But since he’s basically using the same name for all platforms, feel free to find him on Steam if you’re looking for gaming buddies. And of course, if you wanna find some awesome games to play, don’t forget to follow his TapTap account for some nice but concise game reviews!
