Uncharted Waters Origin is the long-awaited sequel to the classic seafaring MMORPG Uncharted Waters Online. It is the result of a collaboration between LINE Games and Koei Tecmo, the owner of the Uncharted Waters franchise.

Developed by Motif, a studio that includes some veteran talent coming from the likes of Nexon, Netmarble, and XL Games, this new adventure is in development for PC and mobile. An Uncharted Waters Origin Steam release is planned along with the versions for Android and iOS.

The Uncharted Waters Origin release date is set for 2020 as a remake of Voyage 2, and this year is the 30th-anniversary of Uncharted Waters.

Yoko Kanno, renowned Japanese composer who has worked on Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, and the original Uncharted Waters Online game, returns for Uncharted Waters Origin with over 100 music tracks.

Lee Sang-gyu who is core project members has said that the game was almost done and it will be released in 2020. The Origin keeps most of the lines of Uncharted Waters 2, then it also adds some new characters full of cultural characteristics.
