——New Player Friendliness: ★★☆☆☆
If you are a newcomer to rhythm games, I do not recommend playing Arcaea. Arcaea's judgement is strict and lacks a combo scoring system (newcomers may be shocked as to why they received an AA even with full combo, without even an EX), and the potential (which can be considered as one of the parameters for measuring one's playing skills) can decrease if one does not perform well. Its unique 3D mode also makes it difficult for some players who are new to Arcaea to adapt.
However, if you already have a certain foundation, want to try other rhythm games, and have some spare cash in your wallet, then Arcaea is undoubtedly one of the best games.
——Grindability: ★★★☆☆
Many of Arcaea's songs, partners, and even its plot need to be obtained through the "World Mode," which players call "climbing." (I can't believe this term even needs to be censored.)
It is similar to challenging songs (in most cases, players can choose the song, difficulty, speed, etc.), and calculates the number of steps based on the difficulty of the song and the settlement rating, and the final number of steps based on the partner effect. The "ladder" usually has multiple steps in the first order, ranging from 1 to 450. At the same time, it also has a stamina system. When you run out of stamina, you cannot challenge songs. Stamina will naturally recover over time.
In addition, if you can't beat a song, don't force it. It's not very useful to just rely on reflexes.
——Gameplay: ★★★★☆
The quality of all aspects is relatively balanced, and the highlights are not very noticeable.
In terms of the expression of the chart, it is indeed excellent, but there are also other rhythm games that are equally outstanding. For example, Phigros can synchronize the player's gestures and sound effects during gameplay, and the chart expression of the famous song "Brain Power" in Cytus II is also outstanding.
The character illustrations, song illustrations, and interface UI have indeed created their own style, but Bang Dream! also has beautiful girls (of course, compared to idol-based rhythm games, it's not really fair to compare the character illustrations), and Cytus II and Lanota are equally excellent in these three aspects.
