Summary:

My Experience:

So you don't need to worry if you haven't played Evoland 1. They are not related in the face. Some gamers found the 2nd half of Evoland 1 to be very dull, so you can skip over to Evoland 2 if you like

Both games take you through the history of different art styles of video games. Seeing how the characters break the 4th wall noticing how the game has changed its style, or they know what pixels are while on their adventure. 

While playing the game, you notice many familiar mechanics shown throughout Evoland 2, also some references that mention some games like:

Metal Gear Solid 2

Super Mario

Professor Layton

Legend of Zelda

and many more!

Evoland 2 is a better successor to Evoland 1, with a fantastic mix of game genres, fun references, and wide gameplay variety and styles to keep you interested!

It also works very well on the steam deck!
