Aliens are coming to Dead by Daylight and I've never been more excited

As someone that’s grown up watching all films from the Alien franchise, it’s so exciting to finally see one of these terrifying Xenomorphs find their way to one of my favorite horror games of all time. In Dead by Daylight’s upcoming patch, this slimy, black alien has shown up and only the most cunning and brave can escape its sharp claws.

This patch includes the infamous Xenomorph XX121, as well as the iconic space-traveling character Ellen Ripley. If it wasn’t obvious already, Ellen Ripley plays the newest survivor, while the alien takes on the role of one of the killers.

The Xenomorph has various unique abilities that make it perfect for players like myself that like speedy and elusive killers like The Demogorgon and The Spirit. Its ability kit allows it to travel across the map, crawl rapidly, and strike enemies with its sharp tail.

But don’t worry if you can’t run fast enough to escape its claws. Players can pick up remote flame turrets from stations across the map, which basically slow and stop the killer for a few seconds. This item is really handy, especially around pallets or when playing Ellen Ripley. Ellen Ripley’s perks are great for holding off killers, sabotaging pallets, and quietly lurking around the map.

Alongside these two characters comes an entirely new map for players to relish that might look a little familiar. The newest map is a wreckage of the ship known in the series as the Nostromo. Both the characters and the map will arrive in Dead by Daylight’s latest upcoming patch on 29 August 2023.
