Danganronpa fans, take note: A new killing game is about to begin!

We're huge fans of the twisty storytelling and gruesome deaths of the Danganronpa series of visual novels, but there hasn't been a new mainline entry since 2017's Danganronpa V3. With that in mind, we're starting to look elsewhere to get our fix of kidnapped innocents placed into a dastardly game of death.

Luckily, we don't have to wait much longer for a game that looks like it might just fill that void. Inescapable: No Rules, No Rescue is an upcoming visual novel where a group of strangers have been kidnapped, shipped off to a tropical resort, and put into a messed-up reality TV show. The contestants stand to win a lot of money at the end of the show, but only if they don't get killed along the way.

While it's very clearly inspired by games like Danganronpa and the Zero Escape series, one curious note about Inescapable is that it's actually developed by a Finnish studio, Dreamloop Games. The character design looks on point, though, and Dreamloop is promising multiple endings and vastly different paths through the story based on the player's choices.

Inescapable: No Rules, No Rescue will be available beginning on October 19, 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S.
