Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising may be the best way to experience the Granblue Fantasy world yet

Arc System Works is a legendary fighting game developer, so it was no surprise when they released a killer spin-off of Granblue Fantasy in 2020. After all, this is one of the most well-loved mobile RPGs ever made, even though it's technically never received an official release in North America. But a gorgeous, anime-style fighting game? That was the perfect way to appreciate this incredibly deep world developer Cygames had created.

Or it was the perfect way. Because now there's an even better option: Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, Arc System Works' follow-up to the first Granblue fighting game. While the well-received core gameplay will stay the same, Rising features a number of major improvements. For example, players can now opt for simplified move inputs, making the game much more accessible to less hardcore fighting game players.

But that's not all! If you need a break from the intense fighting, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will have multiple options. A party mode will let players take part in goofy, Fall Guys-esque minigames, and the story campaign will play out in the form of an action-RPG where the characters actually grow stronger as they progress. That campaign mode also promises a long, deep story that's sure to draw in existing Granblue fans.
