I can't believe they just copy paste the game to mobile!
And that's A GOOD THING! Goat Simulator 3 is a triumph I've seen with previous Goat Simulator port to android. They just take all the features PC has, remove 2 more player due to hardware limitations, and that's it! Still the very same Goat Simulator 3 only the multiplayer is limited to 2 players instead of 4.
I tested the game (multiplayer) with 2 phones. Poco F3 (snapdragon 870) and A52 5G (snapdragon 750) and they both has wildly different graphics. My Poco render every texture at highest detail, shadow are present (albeit far-away shadow are not present as in the screenshot) and the draw distance including person and litters are far enough to look detailed. Very much playing PC release in low, but it's good enough than most mobile game. The A52 however doesn't share the same story at all. It does run at the same capped 30fps (yes, there is no graphics settings in this game and so the fps stuck at 30 at both phones) however all textures are lost. Everything is shaded primitively, no materials, no specular reflection, it's as basic as the game gets. I think the graphics downgrade is too intense because the phone doesn't get warm at all. So I believe it could actually run better graphics.
The game, as I said, run at 30fps. And it only can do that, there was no setting whatsoever for graphics and performance. This is what in stuck with. Being said the game has no slowdowns at all, it runs 30fps whatever happened on screen. Also, the game still runs fine even if you're the host, which notoriously known for being Performance hoggers in PC. So don't worry, if you think your phone can game, you can enjoy Goat Simulator 3 in your phone.
Now the real deal. The game is everything about gameplay. It's crazy, it's wacky, it's multiplayer with any friends you can think of. The game is vast, have a ton of collectibles and missions that keep you wanting to explore and do all kind of stuff. This is the same as PC game anyway. It's impressive a full scale sandbox like Goat Simulator can be played multiplayer with phone today.
Oh yeah, although you can only play with 1 friend, the game doesn't get less fun with it. In a way you can keep being together while experiencing this game, which helps with the performance limitation the game suffers from. Wait... What? Yeah well even if the game runs at stable 30fps. Apparently, with terrible networking/syncing performance or maybe performance difference between phones does get in a way when enjoying multiplayer explicitly. So there are some issues I found:
1. Beds aren't consistently make you jump high when you're playing on your friends room
2. If you're the host, licking an NPC/player will make them go ragdoll, but unlicked. You need to lick again to finally attach living thing to your tongue, goat's tongue I mean.
3. Explosion and headbutting will at first show wrong trajectory sometimes. And after a bit while the real location get synced which surprises you sometimes that your partner has suddenly disappear.
With that said, the game still has so many to offer you. There are so many game-changing attachment in wardrobe you can collect while exploring the map. This makes exploring the same area, never felt the same anymore! All places are unlocked by default, but ofc you want more! You can upgrade your castle by keep doing stuff, just any stuff. You will see new features and different experience or even map-changing event everywhere. The game has so much to offer and obviously I can't tell all in here. You just gotta try yourself! Or.... With your friends obviously because this is a multiplayer game!
So, if you have played the game on PC... DOES NOT MATTER! play it anywhere now instead! Re-experience everything on mobile. It's the same I know, but hey the controls make it different enough to be whole new experience. If you haven't played the game before, WHY NOT??? Its not even expensive to start with, and this game is for you, everyone, just give it a try and you'll not exit the game. It's not a bug, it's a feature!
