I will rate Heroes Evolved 3 stars out of Five. And Here's why:
I approach any 5v5 mobile moba game unbiased, despite the fact almost all of them are *inspired* by Riot Game's League of Legends. I don't expect any premium experience in a mobile game, and I understand the business model itself.
People have claimed that Heroes Evolved is a blend of Dota and League of legends, which tries to mix and match game mechanics and I saw what they have meant. But that statement is not entirely accurate.
Unfortunately I can say very little positives about Heroes evolved. I praise the game for its not a hundred percent complete imitator, and it can be a "fun" time waster if you're completely uninterested in character design.
The game tried to have its original identity in some aspects but the problem is that the game prioritises quantity over quality. The characters are sexualised reimaginations of legendary figures from Japanese, Chinese, Greek, Norse mythologies. Expect to see a lot of cleavage and refined muscle figures, with hopes to sell.
This game has a dirty secret though, the ranked matchmaking is filled with hidden bots, with team members and enemies alike. How did I figure this out? Easy.
You call your lane, none of them respect your choice. The alleged bots always dive in towers auto attacking and then backing off, they're not interested in last hitting creeps but unintentionally feeding you. You can tell that 18 games I have lost none of them, and the KDA ratio is abnormally high despite I tried to play sloppy on purpose.
Another evidence that these are bots are the **player** country flags. I'm from Greece and I had to play with or against players from SEA and African nations. Technically this should never be possible.
I can go and on and on about why this MOBA is a complete waste of time, but bad character design, terrible voice acting and completely fake matchmaking gives me no reason to continue playing or even worse, paying with money.
