No comeback potential. One lost teamfight, and enemy will snowball while your team's fighting a losing battle. There's no other other place to farm (jungle, objectives, etc.) other than in-lane: minions & enemy heroes
My suggestion for this issue is to make buying equipments only available upon death, & at base. So that the other team may have a chance to farm & balance out the battle.
