The new era of gaming is automated. Even reviews seem like they were written by robots. This game decided to automate the graphics, leaving a choice between effects levels and shadow quality and making you actually play the rest. For someone with a high-end device, this feels like having to trade appearance for interaction. Fortunately, the trade is not that big with this particular art style.
Honkai Impact is likely the first thing that comes to mind for many and, for once, they are actually right to bring it up. The differences should be obvious, though. You can choose a gender, customize the character, and name the person handling your "base" in addition to yourself. This is what makes the difference between another clone of a past game and something new it inspired.
Games have become categories, with each one having 1000 copies of the first. It makes it hard to choose one game over the next. In this case, that decision is not hard at all. What this game lacks in advanced graphics it makes up for everywhere else.
