App installed but cannot open

Hi, I have a pixel 3XL with android 9 beta 3. I can download the app and install it, but I cannot seem to open it. Every time the system just says the app has stopped working, without evening getting to the launch screen. What can I do to fix that or is it just that the current version is not compatible with Android 9? The app version I installed is 2.1.1 I think.
