The theme music creation direction of “Genshin Impact” was determined very early, and there was not much rework or any entangled feelings in the production process. By matching the musical instruments with the urban style, we have developed a unique theme for each city, and use the theme to pull related elements, extract the most suitable items as temperament keywords, adding them to the musical style.
After the theme song is initially formed, it is necessary to constantly adjust the details. Although the details have changed, the overall temperament of the theme music has not changed much. All the time, its tone is melodious and classic. At the same time, it also shows related interpretations about the journey through the performance of musical instruments-freedom, sincerity, and innocence. These keywords are our understanding and restoration of the world of “Genshin Impact” on the musical dimension.
At first, it was actually a demo song played by the piano.
From the initial piano demo to the version presented to everyone nowadays, it has undergone numerous modifications during the period.

When we originally created music for “Genshin Impact”, the reference material we got was a CG sketch. In the picture, the young traveler is sitting by the cliff, looking at the city of Mond. At that time, we only had a relatively basic visual impression of the game, and we did not know much about the theme, core, and emotional flow of the game itself. In order to understand these parts, we have repeatedly communicated with the program, IP, and art designer. After establishing a clear world view, we began to slowly adjust the design ideas.
One part that had changed a lot is ambient music. We continually test and adjust for a long time, and finally get the most ideal ambient music volume. The ambient music under this volume can be integrated into the world environment to the greatest extent.
[b]3. Specific performance of the music shown in “Genshin Impact”

(1) Time change of login interface
There are four different time performances in the login interface of “Genshin Impact”, and the screen performances are daytime, dusk, night, and dawn. In line with this, we have also done a variety of treatments to the music.
The four different times of music enjoy a common melody. According to the performance on every time scale, we have made a lot of changes in detail. During the day, the soundtrack is grand;at dawn and dusk, music is elegance and softness; at night, we add some female humming in the soundtrack, which will create a mysterious and subtle atmosphere with the performance of the picture.

Among the music we made, the soundtrack of the Wind Devil DragonWallint also impressed us. When we made this song, we replaced the common passionate genre with the theme of emotion orientation, integrated the tone of the story of the wind magic dragon Wallint into the music, and made such a more unique battle BGM.
Our positioning on the original music of "Original God" is also more "emotional-oriented". We hope that players will not only use music as an auxiliary material for combat but as an important part of the world, story, history, and even battle. Through feeling and resonating with music, we can obtain a deeper and more personal game experience.
