PUBG Mobile - Combat Tips and Engagement Tactics

Cover is Critical
You’ve got armor and a level-three helmet, sure, but nothing protects from enemy bullets quite like buildings, walls, trees and rocks. Your first order of business should be to find something to hide behind and something to peak from.
Cover works on two levels. First and most obviously, it protects you from enemy fire. Secondly, cover gives you the ability to disappear from the enemy’s view and play mind-games. Remember to stay comfy: your less patient opponents may eventually rush into your line of fire, introducing them directly to your crosshairs.
Shhh… hear that?
Sound is positional in PUBG and PUBG Mobile, making listening essential. Hear enemy gunfire in the distance? Listen close and try to triangulate the position of the enemy based on where it sounds like its coming from. Using sound, you can also get the drop on enemies that are already fighting each other, making them easy pickings for you.
Still, you might find yourself taking fire from opponents you cannot see—in those situations, listen for whistles and snaps, as they’ll give away when an enemy is closing in on you. Remember to move your position as you take fire; as you shift, the sound should pan, giving you a better idea of where that pesky sniper is holed up. Pro-tip: dig out those headphones. They help!
Now You See Me…Now You Don’t!
When engaging in close-range fights inside buildings, consider all the options. You don’t need to stay inside the building just because the battle started there! Try giving the enemy the ‘ole rope-a-dope.
Jump out a window or run out the back door, loop around to the front of the building, and re-enter. Shoot your opponent as he’s wandering around where he thinks you should be.
Avoid Tunnel Vision
Quite naturally, when aiming down the scope, all your attention will be on your target.
Don’t focus merely on your headshot, or you might be someone else’s. When you glass up an opponent, you’re at your most vulnerable, as the scope restricts your vision and ability to move. Remember: you line up that shot, keep your listening ears on; once you hear footsteps nearby, it’s time to move!
Loot: The Perfect Bait
Let's say you’ve got a good position and the equipment to make the most of it, but you can’t seem to get anyone to run into your ambush. Maybe there's a way to make that clearing or courtyard a little more enticing...
Drop some loot on the ground where you want your enemies to be. Some ammo, some meds, whatever. Hopefully, greedy or desperate players will come investigating this ‘free loot,’ and you’ll collect your kill. The trick is to leave good enough items that they'll merit investigating, while not lowering your own stopping power.
Always Mind Your Surroundings
This is a tip specifically for PUBG mobile players. Did you know that, just like in the PC version, you can rotate your camera's viewpoint using the ‘Eye’ button?
Panning around with the camera is essential to maintaining situational awareness. Not to say there’s no honor in PUBG Mobile, but your opponents won’t hesitate to shoot you in the back. Check your sides and your six every so often to make sure you haven’t picked up any snipers on your tail. Panning can also be very useful in an intense firefight, as you can use it to observe more of the battlefield without having to move from your cover position.
