Devil May Cry Mobile Final Beta Impressions

Translate
DMC mobile's final beta period has just ended. I was waiting for this one for too long and finally, I must say, the experience was enjoyable. The game is over 7.5GB in size and mostly in Chinese. But it looks like this is close to the final version. I don\'t usually write about mobile games but since this is Devil May Cry, so here we are.
Graphics: Graphics look fantastic and intense and also demanding on the system. There are some bugs in the beta version but hopefully, they'll be fixed in the final release. The game might overheat some phones too. There are multiple graphics settings so minimum suggested requirements shouldn’t be a problem. But the game looks trash at the lowest settings so probably bumping up the graphics and playing it in 30fps is a better option.
Mechanics: The gameplay mechanics are familiar if you've played any other DMC before. The devs tried their best to keep it as close as to the console experience. Combat style, combos, jumps, dodge, weapons, demons everything is from big DMC titles, even the locations are inspired from console DMC titles.
Story: Story in the beta version is not complete. From the 13 playable chapters in Beta, the story doesn’t seem very compelling. It's the same old familiar DMC story where some demons are out loose, somewhere some gate or seal is broken and Dante has to fight through. And of course, there's the infamous sibling rivalry - Dante looking for Vergil and probably going to fight each other in the final version.
Gameplay: The gameplay is again, what you would expect from a DMC game. If you are a DMC loving person, you'll love this one too. Developers tried to make the gameplay close to what console players are familiar with. Dante\s look is from DMC 3, the combat style also resembles DMC 3's combat style. But the gameplay is repetitive, like all other DMC games. Same stages, multiple times and the same type of demons again and again. You basically do the same thing, same fights everywhere. So much so that at some point it might feel boring and frustrating to some (unless you are never tired of killing Demons in DMC).
Microtransactions: From this part and the topics below, the game follows the typical online gaming trend. Expect a huge amount of microtransactions, spend real money to buy in-game stuff. There are items, skins, outfits, orbs, other currencies, chests and a whole lot of stuff you can buy. But the microtransaction feature was China only in the Beta version so I couldn’t buy anything.
Currency: DMC games are usually filled with loads of items. But this is next-level stuff. I lost count of how many different types of in-game currencies you'll require to upgrade certain elements or unlock items. It's like every menu, every page of the game introduces you to a new type of currency that is specific for that purpose only.
Alchemy: This game has so many items that it now has a lab where you will combine/convert one type of item to a different type as you require. These items are necessary to upgrade weapons.
Chests: You will get rewards and chests as you progress. This is one of your sources of items for upgrades.
Weapons: There are a total of 4 slots for weapons, out of which 2 are unlocked for the beta. You play with a sword Nemesis that doesn’t look like Rebellion, instead, Rebellion is available as a skin for this one. Another weapon is the double knife much like Agni-Rudra from DMC 3. Dante's Ebony & Ivory is available, along with 2 other steam guns. Vergil will be with his Yamato. Lady's Guns, Bazooka, Beowulf's weapon can be seen and unlockable. Weapons cannot be changed from within the mission freely like they used to be in console versions (or I couldn’t find an option to do so). Instead, you have to pick your weapons before starting the mission.
Skills: Many of the familiar weapon combos are coming back for the mobile. As usual, you'll need red orbs to unlock new combos as well as upgrade yourself. You can add extra life bars, DT bars, physique upgrades, critical upgrades, power upgrades and anger upgrades to the player.
Skins: Skins are coming. For players as well as weapons. Dante currently has 6 outfits and all of the weapons have unlockable skins.
Rank: The rank mode in DMC mobile is called Bloodpalace. It's similar to the console version's Bloody Palace. The mode unlocks after you complete a certain number of missions. You progress by completing levels going from easy to hard.
Multiplayer: Multiplayer mode in DMC mobile is called Final Trial. It's a mode where you team up with other players and kill Demons. You can add friends.
Boss:  Bosses will be familiar if you've played DMC on consoles. There are Griffon and Phantom from OG DMC, and there's Nevan, Beowulf and Cerberus from DMC 3. Too bad that I didn't see Nevan's electrifying guitar anywhere in the game. Hopefully, it'll be added in the final version. There are other small bosses (and usual demons later) like Hell Vanguard from DMC 3.
Cerberus: When there's a precious gate to protect, there's our trusty old 3 headed ice-dog Cerberus. Cerberus is the final boss in the DMC mobile beta and it's also the one who will test your patience to finish. Killing Cerberus doesn’t provide you with Cerberus nunchaku, again, hopefully, we'll be seeing the weapon in the final version.
Playable Characters: Apart from Dante, there's Lady and Vergil as playable characters. Dante is the only one available for free in the Beta. Lady is instantly unlockable if you spend money. Dante has his Devil trigger which is unlocked at the first encounter with Nevan.
Premium Pass: Again like most other online games, DMC mobile will feature Premium Pass. And what else could they call it other than, you guessed it- 'DevilPass'. It looks like there are 2 tiers of DevilPass to buy, Advance pass and Elite pass. And also a free pass for free players.
Other: There is a ton of achievements, quests, activities, gift items and other things to do in the game. There is a blind pick lottery menu where you get a random item each time you spend some special currency. There is a book of devil with upgradable ruins that allows Dante to master a particular demon's power and so on. Almost every item is ranked as Epic, Legendary, Rare and so on. Since this is only Beta, expect even more madness when the game launches globally.
Beta version ends with an appreciation letter from the project team after killing Cerberus. Gameplay videos, Vergil & Lady’s gameplay, full walkthrough, and all kinds of other videos are already available on youtube if you are interested.
